Over the next few months, my wife, Sarah, is going to write some entries about saving money. She does a great job shopping sales and using coupons while not being fanatical about it. This is stuff that would work for a single person or someone planning for an entire household. She will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about stores, shopping, coupon policies, internet coupons, etc. This is just another way to save a little here and there, adding up to a lot over time.
Several months ago, Walmart was running a set of commercials encouraging the viewer to compare his normal grocery bill with a similar shopping trip to Walmart. Sarah was pretty sure that her method of shopping was superior, so she took the challenge. After confirming that her savvy skills were saving us tons of money she wrote her story and sent it in to Harris Teeter. They decided it was interesting enough and made a commercial out of it.
Oh yeah, and Harris Teeter rewarded Sarah's money-saving skills and store loyalty with free groceries. It got us an extra 8 weeks of savings!
